On Thursday, three
people told me to relax, including a complete stranger. (To be fair, I was
picking up my checked bags outside the bookstore – I heft around two bags full of books everywhere, which would seem
excessive, but that’s only a small amount of the total material that I need for
my five classes. The rest I keep in my locker at MESA – and looking rather harried.
The guy to whom I exchanged my number for my bags observed me, kind of
an up and down, then said carefully, “Have a . . . relaxed . . . day.”)
I have memory problems
I think, because unless I write something down I can guarantee that it will be
forgotten almost immediately.
So I keep a notebook checklist
of things I need to do. Here’s a look at a day in my “list”:
- Make flyers for new website
- Buy chicken for soup
- Need salad dressing
- Renew library books
- Upload photos to blog
- Start bean soup
- Email so-and-so about la la la
- Respond to so-and-so’s email
- Print chemistry material
- Look into “free” glasses (www.Coastal.com)
- Locate Stater Bros. (we have a gift card)
- Exchange head phones at Target
- Look up healthy salad dressing recipes
- Do the dishes
- Clean the house
- Prepare for school
- Buy mini, narrow, and large scantrons
- Buy parking permit
- Math homework
- Print bio material
- Figure out Date Festival days
- Buy 10x10 graph paper for chem
- Print Hist. Rock&Roll powerpoints
- Print club stuff
- Professor signatures on charter application
- Visit pet sitting client, initial consult
- Submit internship for Michigan State
- Submit club charter application
- Print class schedules, figure out exam conflict days, try to work out solutions
- Graph chem lab data
- See if UC Davis barn resident application is posted
- Transfer chem notes
- Take test for laptop
- Replace LiveScribe pen tips
- Upload math notes online
- Replace highlighter in bag
- Remove the T.V.
- Make dentist appointment for bad tooth
- Complete communications test questions
- Chem study guide
- Bio study guide
- Bio quiz study guide
- Bio lab quiz study guide
- Post past test questions on Blackboard
